Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. The parents of Audrey Tautou who was both dentists and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's passion for theater and drama at an early stage. The support they provided is more than enough for Audrey to thwart her initial goal of becoming a primatologist. When she was a teenager the rise to fame was swift and ended with early recognition and success. When she finished her education and acting, she appeared on the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and began her acting career. Tautou was raised in a Catholic family and attended her church even though she was a student at school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She pursued a career in modeling alongside her acting career and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Photographing is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work in the Arles festival, under the title Superficial. The work she produces is focused on fame in addition to popularity. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a particular focus on the media that has closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid success following Amelie. Audrey Tautou's very first major role, as Amelie Poulain's lead actor in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed her fame to the world. Amelie achieved international success on the screen and was awarded awards across the world. Amelie was the highest-rated French-language film in the US. The popularity of the film brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, including British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
